Based on the text by the same name, this course will focus on an area wrought with confusion in our time, the innovation (bid’ah). In this course Shaykh Jamal will introduce students to a nuance understanding of this important issue through the lens of the principles of Islamic jurisprudence (usul al-fiqh). Students will gain a greater understanding of both the currently misunderstood issue, as well as the foundations of the law in general.
